Hi everyone!
I had to make a quick trip back to Arkansas, but am heading out to the trail Sunday. I'm starting on the north end close to Canada because the weather is getting colder and being in the wilderness in a whiteout isn't something I look forward to. Once I get to Canada, I'll drop south and fill in the parts I missed (weather permitting). I am getting the journal to Reid today so you will have many pages of updates. Sorry about the delay but it is hard to get internet service. Keep posting so I know you all are out there. I really enjoy hearing from you all and even more importantly, I need to know someone is reading my journals. When I don't hear from you all I let the mountains discourage me. KEEP POSTING, PLEASE!

Hey Sue,
I've been reading all your updates but I haven't seen any new ones since July. Hope all is well with you. That is some amazing journey you are on.
Take care, be safe.

smilieHi Susan,
I'm the one who helped at Mountaineer with the Elite classes and drove you around. What a oourageous and exciting adventure you are on. It is such a huge undertaking but it looks like you have all the right ingredients to get it done. Keep safe and have a great ride.

Susan, almost Oregon!, 08-07-2009 14:09:57, Unknown toggle

Hey folks, I'm almost to the Oregon border! Only 48 miles to go. I sent a few more journal pages to Reid and he should have them posted in a day or two. Don't forget to send a donation if you can, the Groom Elite Program sure needs your support and much as I need your comments! Issy is becomming a great horse with lots of instinct for the trail, read about how he handles the bear!

Sue,
I have enjoyed reviewing your log entries. When I fly over the areas you are riding across i have always been amazed that anyone would or could ride over the rough terrain. Tell Burton hello, we miss you guys.
Your Texas friend,
connie
